The second volume of Grant Morrison's mind-bending Vertigo series hits the ground running with this striking Brian Bolland cover depicting three masked, hazmat-suited figures surrounding a central dark-clad figure who lunges forward with an outstretched hand, ghostly energy tendrils coiling around them all and a wheeled cart crackling with the same eerie force. Bolland's meticulous linework gives the scene a tense, unsettling atmosphere that perfectly suits Morrison's counter-culture espionage world.
