The Invisibles #18

Part two of the "Entropy in the U.K." arc arrives with a cover by Sean Phillips that's hard to look away from — Gideon Stargrave dominates the frame in a vivid red military coat, blue round-lens shades, and a raised pistol, set against a hypnotic swirling grey background bordered by red-and-black checkerboard. Grant Morrison, Phil Jimenez, and John Stokes bring their psychedelic espionage sensibility to this DC Vertigo series, and the cover's mod-spy energy captures exactly the kind of counterculture menace the title does so well.
