Mike S. Miller and Ben Avery's charming Image series delivers a delightfully surreal action scene on this 2005 cover: a superhero in blue-and-white costume squares off against a squad of uniformed teddy bears in red coats, each wielding a baton with surprising authority. Greg Titus's pencils bring an infectious energy to the chaotic brawl, with stuffing flying and bears tumbling across the crumbling ground. It's the kind of imaginative premise that reminds you why all-ages adventure comics can be so much fun.
