Dynamite Entertainment announced the series in October 2024, positioning it explicitly as a follow-up to the commercial and critical success of their ongoing Space Ghost title by writer David Pepose. Tom Sniegoski, known for work on Vampirella and Hellboy tie-ins, was tapped to write, with Craig Rousseau — whose linework was praised for evoking Alex Toth's original design aesthetic — providing interior art throughout.
