The Goon #6

A towering lizard creature — ¡Lagarto Hombre! — looms over a smoldering cityscape on this wonderfully pulpy 2004 cover by Eric Powell, while the Goon, a screaming woman, and a wide-eyed companion scramble in the foreground. The whole thing is dressed up in gloriously lurid B-movie promotional language, promising horror, brutality, and "shocking acts of depraved carnage" in the finest tradition of 1950s creature-feature posters. Powell's painted cover work captures that blend of genuine menace and deadpan comedy that makes The Goon such a joy to track down.
