The Goon #43 brings Eric Powell's beloved horror-comedy series into genuinely unsettling territory with this striking 2012 Dark Horse issue. The cover, penciled and inked by Powell himself, presents a tall, red-coated bearded man in a wide-brimmed hat standing alongside a tiny mustachioed figure behind a small draped stage — the two dwarfed by a swirling mass of anguished ghostly faces and, looming above it all, a massive decayed skull with a single bloodshot eye. With contributions from Mark Buckingham and Kyle Hotz on interior art, this "Billy the Kid's Old Timey Oddities" chapter promises the series' signature blend of the grotesque and the oddly charming.
