The Good the Bad and the Ugly #1

Dynamite's 2009 adaptation of Sergio Leone's beloved Western gets off to a sharp start with this first issue, written by Chuck Dixon with art by Esteve Polls and colors by Marc Rueda. Dennis Calero's cover sets the mood perfectly — a steely-eyed poncho-clad gunfighter levels his revolver dead at the viewer, surrounded by a swirl of bullet-riddled playing cards that scatter like bad luck in the desert wind. It's a confident opening hand for a series with serious frontier attitude.
