Escaping, Katanga saves Indiana from the tide and they destroy the Temple of Chung Hua to save Katanga's men. Hiroto, informed of an explosion by his men, unwittingly saves them from Emeralda's pirates. Emeralda dies trying to destroy the Bantu Wind. Indiana returns to Marshall College and is told by Marcus that Marion has left after receiving a letter from her father.
