The Fox and the Crow #65

The cover of this January 1960 DC humor comic sets the tone perfectly: the Crow perches atop a ladder with a hammer, gleefully nailing a "Good Luck" horseshoe above the door of "F. Fox, Esq.," while a flustered Fox braces against the doorframe below and a second crow figure lurks at the ladder's base. Cover art by Jim Davis gives the whole scene a wonderfully elastic, animated-cartoon energy that fans of the series will recognize immediately. As a bonus, the cover promises appearances by that ever-lovin' pair, the Hound and the Hare — making this a particularly lively installment of DC's long-running funny-animal favorite.
