The Flintstones #8

DC's acclaimed 2017 reimagining of the Stone Age continues with this eighth issue, "The Leisure Class," and the cover by Cully Hamner sets the tone perfectly: Fred Flintstone sits wide-eyed and tense on the couch beside a cheerfully snacking Barney Rubble — a bag of "Stego Chips" nearby — while a clearly exasperated Wilma looks on from the background. It's a wonderfully mundane domestic snapshot that hints at the series' sharp, wry humor about prehistoric couch culture. Writer Mark Russell and artist Steve Pugh keep delivering a Bedrock that feels surprisingly, entertainingly relevant.
