The Flash #9
Part of DC's 2024 Dawn of DC initiative, The Flash #9 — subtitled "Flash in the Hand" — arrives with a cover by Ramón Pérez that says everything about the stakes: a massive, dark-gloved hand reaches upward as the Flash strains against it, crackling with lightning and crying out, while ghostly speed-blur afterimages of the Scarlet Speedster fan out behind him. Looming above it all is an enormous, enigmatic white-hatted figure whose face is cropped to just a smirk, hinting at a formidable presence holding all the cards. With Simon Spurrier writing and art from Pérez and Vasco Georgiev, colored by Matt Herms, this issue looks like an urgent, kinetic chapter in what's shaping up to be a gripping run on the Fastest Man Alive.
