The Fix #5

Few comics can pull off absurdist comedy with this much confidence — Steve Lieber's cover for The Fix #5 shows two grinning men lounging contentedly inside enormous hot dog buns, surrounded by toppings, as if it's the most natural place in the world to relax. The deadpan commitment to the gag is perfect, and it captures exactly the kind of gleefully unhinged tone that Nick Spencer and Lieber bring to this Image series. If you've been following this crime-comedy romp, issue #5 looks like it's keeping the momentum going in delightfully strange fashion.
