"Paratrooper," by Irwin Brower, follows Sergeant Marty Gaines and a young French boy named Pierre who work together behind German lines in Northern France; after Pierre creates homemade colored pencils to hide intelligence about German gun placements, the two outwit German soldiers and successfully deliver the drawings to American headquarters. "Nester's Son," a western story by Buck Barton, depicts Matt Clark and his settlers defending their cabin against raiders; when Andy Clark suggests getting help from the nesters (a group of rival settlers), Clark initially refuses but eventually accepts, and together they defeat Slash Wilson's outfit, leading to peace in the valley.
In a 1944 tale of wartime intrigue, Bruce Carter III and Joan Farwell attend Hovard University's graduation, unaware that among the five hundred new Ensigns is a Nazi spy. As the ceremony unfolds, the spy and his cohorts—armed with a deadly ray disintegrating machine—begin sabotaging newly launched ships, turning the celebration into a race against destruction.
