The Dreaming: Waking Hours #5

Part of DC's Sandman Universe Black Label line, this fifth issue of The Dreaming: Waking Hours brings "The Bard and the Bard, Finale" to a close with a cover by Tiffany Turrill that's genuinely hard to look away from. A figure with flowing blue-white hair and glowing white hands dominates the composition, their face fractured by ribbon-like bands of light against a swirling field of vivid orange, red, and violet — the whole image radiating the sense of something dreamlike unraveling or reshaping itself. G. Willow Wilson and artist Nick Robles, with colors by Mat Lopes, have been crafting one of the more thoughtful corners of the Sandman Universe, and this finale issue promises a fitting crescendo to the arc.
