The Dreaming: Waking Hours #2

Part two of "The Bard and the Bard" arrives in this 2020 DC Black Label entry in the Sandman Universe, with a cover by Bill Sienkiewicz that masterfully sets the mood. A lone silhouetted figure stands small and vulnerable beneath an enormous, flame-eyed creature whose jagged, grinning maw dominates the composition in smoldering oranges and deep shadow. G. Willow Wilson and artist Nick Robles, with colors by Mat Lopes, continue their journey through the Dreaming — and Sienkiewicz's cover makes absolutely clear that whatever awaits within is vast, hungry, and not entirely friendly.
