This second volume of the Savage Dragon Archives from Image Comics collects early Erik Larsen material under the ominous title "Possessed," and the cover sets a fittingly intense tone. A green-skinned, powerfully built Dragon charges forward across a field littered with skulls, bearing down on a massive, wild-haired figure whose sheer size dwarfs him — shadowy, demonic shapes looming across a blood-red background completing the dread-soaked atmosphere. Larsen's linework, handling both pencils and inks himself, crackles with raw energy that made early Savage Dragon such a compelling read in 1998.
