The Dodo and the Frog #85

DC's charming funny-animal title delivers another round of all-new stories in this 1955 issue, and the cover sets the tone perfectly: Dodo, bat in hand and hat askew, beams with pride as he asks Fenimore if he's impressed by his home run — meanwhile, the Frog's dazed face says it all, having clearly served as the unintended target through a broken window. It's the kind of sweet, slapstick gag that made this series a warm staple of mid-1950s all-ages comics, and at a dime a copy it was hard to pass up.
