“Somewhat Alive!”

In "Somewhat Alive!", the DNAgents face a shocking turn when Alexi Vlasov hijacks Sham’s body to power the towering Mega-Man, unleashing chaos on Matrix, Inc. headquarters. With Vlasov seemingly destroyed in the explosion and the team reeling, Surge uncovers a chilling truth about her origins—Lucius hints she may be a clone grown from his own DNA, a revelation made even more uncertain when Vlasov’s attack erases the records that could confirm it. Written by Mark Evanier and brought to life by Will Meugniot’s dynamic art, with inks by Al Gordon, colors by Janice Cohen, and letters by Carrie McCarthy, this 1983 Eclipse issue delivers a tense, emotionally charged chapter in the series. The cover, penciled by Meugniot and inked by Gordon, captures the moment’s intensity.

Alexi Vlasov uses Sham's body to power a giant robot body he calls Mega-Man and uses it to destroy Matrix, Inc. headquarters. When Sham escapes, Vlasov appears to die in the resulting explosion. After Luger manages to kill Angela, Surge learns from Lucius that she was Proto-1, grown using the DNA of the real Angela who had been murdered eleven years earlier. Lucius also suggests that Surge was grown from his own DNA after Harden tells the group that Vlasov's attack has destroyed the recorded research used to create them, making Lucius' claim impossible to verify.
