“World Held Hostage! (Day Zero)”

In "World Held Hostage! (Day Zero)," the DNAgents race against time as the U.S. government scrambles to pay a ransom to stop the second monolith from detonating. With tensions high and trust crumbling, Krell takes the money—but not as a surrender. The real danger lies not in the bomb, but in the web of deception unfolding behind the scenes. Written by Mark Evanier and illustrated by Will Meugniot, with inks by Al Gordon and colors by Jo Meugniot, this pivotal issue delivers sharp suspense and layered betrayals. The cover, by Will Meugniot and Al Gordon, captures the moment the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Continued from previous issue: The U.S. government agrees to pay the ransom to prevent the detonation of the second monolith. Krell collects the drop-off but hides it as insurance, correctly guessing that Landon intends to kill and frame him. Unknown to Krell, Tawny informs the DNAgents of the scheme and Landon's location. They bring him to custody and reveal (via Harden) the threat was a hoax.
