The Demon #10

The cover of this July 1973 DC issue says it all: Etrigan the Demon crouches in the lower left, looking up at a towering, snarling pink behemoth erupting from a cauldron in a cloud of dark smoke — the creature's booming challenge, "Who dares summon me?", hanging in the air between them. Jack Kirby's pencils and Mike Royer's inks give the confrontation a raw, kinetic energy, with the cover text promising a harrowing descent into the Inferno to recover a lost soul. "The Thing That Screams" looks every bit as unsettling as its title suggests.
