The Creeping Below #2

The cover of this second issue from Boom! Studios is genuinely unsettling in the best way — a gnarled, almost face-like tangle of roots and earth cradles flickering candles and what appears to be a makeshift memorial, with missing-person flyers, a handwritten "We Miss You" note, and a cross tacked among the roots above. Vanesa Del Rey's painterly cover work gives the whole scene a suffocating warmth that feels more like a warning than a comfort. Brian Azzarello and Del Rey's The Creeping Below is shaping up to be one of 2024's most atmospheric horror reads, and this issue keeps that dread firmly rooted.
