Two great B-movie terrors collide in this IDW series opener from writer Chris Ryall and artist Drew Moss — a shambling, wild-eyed zombie lurches forward from the gates of Carbon Falls Cemetery while a spacesuit-clad figure raises a weapon in the foreground, all as a flying saucer beams someone skyward in an eerie green light. The "Zombies Versus Aliens" tagline says it all, and the retro-pulp energy of that cover composition makes the premise feel both gloriously absurd and genuinely fun. If you've ever wished those two classic horror staples would finally meet, 2013 was your year.
