About this Collection

This second volume in IDW and Yoe Books' Chilling Archives of Horror Comics series collects more vintage Voodoo tales from the pre-Code era, featuring the supernatural adventures of the titular heroine and other horror-themed stories originally published in the 1950s. The volume showcases the macabre artwork and eerie narratives that defined this short-lived but influential comic series, preserving a slice of Golden Age horror for modern readers.

"Devil Flower" is a chilling tale from The Chilling Archives of Horror Comics! #17 (2016), a standout entry in IDW’s Yoe Books line, featuring stark, classic horror artwork by the Iger Shop. When gangster Johnnie Grotz is sent to Hell, he turns the tables on Satan—stealing the trident, seizing power, and returning to Earth for revenge. But when the trident slips from his grasp, the tables turn once more, and Satan has a new plan for his fallen tormentor. The cover by Iger Shop perfectly captures the story’s dark, twisted spirit.
