Kelly and his pal Jinx are trying to enjoy their summer vacation without homework when they spot a girl from their class trying to board a ship at the docks. Though Kelly initially wants nothing to do with her, a misunderstanding lands both him and Jinx stowed away in the cargo hold, where they have to use quick thinking to stay one step ahead of the crew. What begins as a chaotic escape turns into an unexpected adventure when the kids stumble onto something the ship's captain has been hunting for years.

When Benjamin volunteers to help with decorations for the school play "Circus Days," his habit of inventing shortcuts to every problem turns what should be a simple task into one catastrophe after another.
