The Boys: Herogasm #5
Spinning out of Garth Ennis's The Boys, this penultimate chapter of the Herogasm miniseries takes a pointed swipe at superhero celebrity culture. Darick Robertson's cover says it all: a barrel-chested, star-spangled hero raises a golden trophy at "The Supies" awards podium, flanked by a smiling blonde and a figure in an old-fashioned diving helmet, while a shadowy face watches from the wings. It's a sharp, satirical tableau that captures everything Herogasm does best — the gleaming facade of superpowered fame with something distinctly uncomfortable lurking just beneath the surface.
