The Boys #14
Darick Robertson's cover for The Boys #14 delivers a gut-punch of an image: a broad-shouldered, scarred man in a dark jacket crouches low and grins directly at the viewer, the entire ground around him drenched a deep, visceral red and littered with debris — the unmistakable aftermath of something very bad. It's a striking, ground-level perspective that puts you uncomfortably close to a figure radiating dangerous confidence. Garth Ennis and Robertson close out the "Glorious Five Year Plan" arc with this 2008 Dynamite issue, and that cover alone makes a compelling case that things did not go smoothly for anyone involved.
