Two issues from the finish line of this twelve-part series, Bryan Hitch and Alex Sinclair deliver a cover that pulls no punches: Batman's battered, blood-spattered cowl lies on a shattered tile floor, pinned down by a knife, surrounded by spent shell casings and streaks of blood — with a gloved hand reaching toward it from below. Warren Ellis's twelve-issue collaboration with Hitch has consistently pushed Batman into brutal, uncompromising territory, and this image makes clear that issue #10 is no exception.
