The Avengers #262

The cover says it all — "When Titans Tussle… Hercules vs. Sub-Mariner!" — and John Buscema and Tom Palmer deliver on that promise with a thunderous waterside brawl between the two powerhouses dominating the foreground. Behind them, the cavalry arrives in force: Captain America, the Wasp, the Falcon, and a caped figure streak into the fray, adding real urgency to an already charged scene. Roger Stern and John Buscema were at the height of their Avengers run in 1985, and this December issue looks like a fine example of why that partnership worked so well.
