The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #96
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1966 DC comedy gem promises "1,001 Chuckles and Shocks" in "The Double-Feature Creature of A Midsummer Night's Scream!" — and Bob Oksner's cover delivers on that pledge immediately. Jerry Lewis clutches an ice cream cone atop a yellow "Camp Karefree" car while a massive, sharp-toothed reptilian monster looms behind him, as a bespectacled mad scientist in the background boasts via his alpha ray that the monster has disappeared — only for Jerry to holler back that it's very much out here. It's a wonderfully absurd setup that captures the slapstick spirit writer Arnold Drake and artist Bob Oksner brought to one of DC's most cheerfully silly titles of the era.
