The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #81
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDC's long-running comedy series delivers another perfectly timed sight gag on this Bob Oksner cover: Jerry finds himself submerged underwater, bubbles streaming from his panicked mouth, while his mischievous little genie — feathered cap and all — cheerfully reminds him that he did wish to go deep-sea fishing. A toothy, wide-eyed purple fish lurks ominously nearby, making it clear the wish was granted with typical genie literalness. Oksner's rubbery, expressive linework captures the slapstick chaos beautifully, and at 12 cents in 1964, this was an absolute bargain for a laugh.
