The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #58

DC's long-running comedy series heads out West in this June 1960 issue, with Jerry decked out in full cowboy regalia — sheriff's star, oversized hat, and a six-shooter he clearly has no idea how to use. Bob Oksner's cover captures the chaos perfectly: bullets ricocheting everywhere (BANG! BAM! PING!) while a rearing horse fires a pistol with more competence than its rider, and a blonde cowgirl beside Jerry looks on with understandable alarm. Jerry's speech bubble — "Oh, no! I load — he shoots — I can't hit anything!" — tells you everything you need to know about the laughs waiting inside.
