The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #105

DC's long-running humor title delivers a delightful crossover in this April 1968 issue, with the real Superman soaring in the background while a bumbling, polka-dotted-underwear-wearing Jerry Lewis tries to pass himself off in a Superman costume — much to the displeasure of a mustachioed villain leveling a ray gun at him. The cover gag practically writes itself: the bad guy has deduced that Jerry is Superman's secret identity, and Jerry's only response is a stammering, goofy grin. Bob Oksner and Wayne Boring bring their complementary talents to the cover, blending Boring's sturdy, classical Man of Steel with Oksner's wonderfully elastic, rubber-faced comedy timing.
