The Adventures of Devil Doone #11
In "The Mountain of the Mists," Devil Doone intercepts a young woman on the brink of jumping from a bridge, pulling her back just in time. The story unfolds as Doone learns of her plight—Carmel Rigby, daughter of a wealthy industrialist, trapped in debt to the ruthless Crow Garner, owner of the Crow's Nest. When Garner demands she bring a friend to their meeting, Doone enlists the help of the sharp-witted Bunty St. Clair to help her out. Written by R. Carson Gold and illustrated with bold, expressive detail by Hart Amos—both inks and pencils on the cover—this 1951 tale blends suspense and moral resolve in a gripping early adventure.
