“That's Because You're a Robot”

"That's Because You're a Robot" is a sharp, tension-filled thriller from 2014, written by David Quantick and brought to life by Shaky Kane, who handles art, inks, and colors with a distinct, gritty flair. In this standout issue, two police officers, Matt and Jeff, find themselves locked in a paranoid spiral over which one is actually a robot—so consumed by the debate that they miss critical clues, fail their duties, and watch their station burn down. The cover, also by Shaky Kane, captures the story’s eerie, high-stakes mood, while Jimmy Betancourt and Comicraft deliver tight, precise lettering that keeps the pace relentless.

Matt and Jeff are two policemen; one of them is a robot, but no one is certain which. The duo are so preoccupied by their arguments about which one is the robot that they overlook a confession from a prisoner, get the person they're staking out killed, lose a suspect in custody and ultimately see their entire police station destroyed. They decide to get revenge on whoever is responsible for the attacks, but keep arguing which of them is the robot.
