This January 1965 Charlton title puts a lone Texas Ranger front and center, crouching low with pistol drawn as gunfire erupts at his feet — a tense, dust-choked standoff straight out of the Old West. Cover art by Dick Giordano and Pat Masulli captures the Ranger's steely focus beautifully, with the warm red backdrop lending real urgency to the scene. Inside, writer Joe Gill and artist Rocco Mastroserio deliver two stories — "Prey of the Comanchero" and "Proud Man with a Gun" — promising exactly the gun-blazing frontier action the series built its reputation on.
