Tessie the Typist Comics #2

The Winter 1944 issue of Tessie the Typist Comics delivers a delightfully absurd gag right on its cover: Tessie, billed as the "World's Most Fearless Lady Lion Tamer" in her snappy red ringmaster's uniform, is cowering away from a tiny mouse while a bewildered lion perches on its circus pedestal behind her — her "Eeek! A Mouse!" speech balloon saying everything. It's a charming snapshot of the playful, humor-driven comics Marvel was producing at the time, and this Winter issue is a fine example of the lighthearted fun that made Tessie such an endearing character.
