Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Armageddon Game #3

The stakes in IDW's 2022 TMNT event series couldn't feel more visceral than on this unsettling cover: a battered, wild-eyed mutant figure crouches over what appears to be a prone turtle, bloodied and menacing beneath the cold glare of surgical lights, while a massive shadowed presence looms ominously overhead. Vincenzo Federici's linework wrings real dread from the scene, with those glowing yellow eyes in the shadow hinting at a threat far larger than what's immediately visible. Tom Waltz and the full creative team are deep into The Armageddon Game by issue three, and this image makes abundantly clear that things have taken a very dark turn.
