“By the Light...”

Part of DC's New 52 era, this April 2012 entry in Scott Lobdell's Teen Titans run puts the team under serious pressure, as the cover tagline "The Fight to Save Kid Flash" makes clear. Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund's cover captures the tension vividly: Robin clashes in close quarters with a menacing, purple-haired villain amid an explosion of shattered debris, while a red-suited figure — Kid Flash — is visible in the chaos to the right and two more characters react in the turbulent background. It's a kinetic, well-composed snapshot of a team pushed to its limits, and reason enough to flip to the first page.
