DC's 1973 adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' beloved Lord of the Jungle reaches a fever pitch in this fourth chapter of "The City of Gold." Joe Kubert's cover pulls no punches — Tarzan, clad in his leopard-skin loincloth, battles furiously through a crushing mass of warriors while a striking white-haired woman presides over the chaos from a fire-lit stone backdrop, arms raised amid an assembled crowd. It's a vivid snapshot of high adventure, rendered with Kubert's characteristically muscular linework and colored with skill by Tatjana Wood.
