The ornate Art Nouveau-style frame of this 2020 Marvel series gives Tarot #3 an immediately distinctive look, framing a wonderfully eclectic collision of Marvel's mightiest. Paul Renaud's cover places a chibi-styled green alien hero front and center, cape billowing as he surges forward alongside two small companions — a monkey-like boy wielding a staff and a young girl in a martial-arts outfit — while the assembled Avengers and Defenders (Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, the Hulk, Silver Surfer, Daredevil, and more) loom impressively in the background. With Alan Davis and Stéphane Paitreau rounding out the creative team, this series already has a rich, imaginative energy that makes issue three a compelling addition to any Marvel reader's pull list.
