About this Collection
This collection kicks off the 2009 Tangent: Superman's Reign miniseries from DC, reimagining the classic DC Universe through the alternate-reality lens of the Tangent imprint. The story follows a group of heroes from the Tangent world as they confront a tyrannical version of Superman who has seized control, blending familiar names with radically different origins and powers.
In "A Brief Tangent," a heist gone wrong sends a thief tumbling into the Tangent Universe, swapping places with the Atom—only to find himself in a world where heroes are strangers and the rules don’t apply. Written by Dwayne McDuffie and illustrated by Joe Benitez, with inks by Victor Llamas and colors by Pete Pantazis, this issue kicks off a surreal crossover with a sharp, grounded premise. The JLA is called in when the unexpected arrival of a strange hero throws the city into chaos, and the cover by Dan Jurgens and Trevor Scott captures the moment the worlds collide.
