This is an anthology of terror tales. "Murder at the Mardi Gras" follows Dan Bidwell, who returns to New Orleans to reunite with his childhood sweetheart, only to become entangled with a sinister old man who kidnaps his love and forces him into an impossible choice between marrying another woman or condemning his beloved to lifelong imprisonment in a dungeon. Another story depicts a space flight where two pilots lose control of their rocket as it accelerates uncontrollably toward space, facing certain doom as their fuel depletes and the temperature inside rises to lethal levels.
