This anthology issue contains two stories: "Murder at the Mardi Gras," featuring a Mardi Gras carnival setting where Dan Bidwell, a Hollywood actor, reunites with a childhood acquaintance named Marion, but becomes entangled in a scheme involving family fortune and kidnapping orchestrated by an elderly man who forces him and Marion into a dungeon with a time-limit threat; and a science fiction tale involving a spacecraft crew at high altitude attempting to reach space, where the characters struggle with malfunctioning rocket controls and must manage fuel consumption while dealing with atmospheric pressure and heat as they accelerate to extreme speeds toward their destination.
