Tales of Syzpense #1
"Les Mort 13, Part One" kicks off a new anthology series from Image Comics with a moody, atmospheric tale that blends supernatural mystery and personal stakes. Written by T. P. Louise and brought to life by Ashley Wood in every capacity—art, inks, colors, and letters—the story introduces a haunting world where a mysterious figure named Jo grapples with a legacy tied to a forgotten number. The cover by Ashley Wood sets a dark, stylized tone that perfectly matches the issue’s eerie, Silver Age-inspired roots.

Syzygy's second year will continue to focus on creating good comics like their new series, Tales of Syzpense, is a nod to Silver Age comic-book anthology split-books. The debut issue features two stories: Dreamweaver and Les Mort 13. Dreamweaver, an older character with magic powers, struggles with his age and the desire to pass on his powers. The character has undergone various iterations since the early 2000s, with artists such as Robert Hack and Jorge Jimenez contributing to its development. Nelson Daniel's work on Dreamweaver has been exceptional, leading to his co-creator credit.
