Tales from the Crypt #6

May 1992 · Russ Cochran · 2.00 USD; 2.50 CAD
“Fare Tonight, Followed by Increasing Clottyness...”

In "Fare Tonight, Followed by Increasing Clottyness...", a nervous taxi driver picks up a strange passenger whose unsettling presence turns a routine shift into a chilling game of cat and mouse. Written by Al Feldstein and illustrated with sharp, unsettling flair by Jack Davis—both pencils and inks—this tale from Tales from the Crypt #6 (1992) delivers a twisty, atmospheric scare that blurs the line between nightmare and reality. The cover, also by Jack Davis, captures the story’s eerie tension in bold, iconic style.

There's a killer on the loose, and a local taxi driver is nervous. So, when a mysterious stranger enters his cab, the driver is immediately suspicious. Soon, the passenger exits the cab and tells the driver to wait. The driver decides to go for a quick walk to stretch his legs but soon realizes the passenger is following him. He must be the killer. No, it's worse. He's a vampire. As death closes in, the driver awakes. Just a nightmare; and a silly nightmare at that. Imagine, a vampire falling asleep at night. The driver then goes looking for his next prey.
