Agents face a bizarre invasion as colossal insects overrun the nation's capital—part of a larger pattern tied to previous attacks on Red Square and a space shuttle. With Dynamo captured by the Iron Maiden and the city in chaos, the THUNDER Squad rallies to defend the capital, while Kitten brings back the ex-agent Vulcan to help turn the tide. Written by Charlie Boatner and illustrated by Lou Manna and Paul Bonanno, with inks by Willie Blyberg and colors by Barry Grossman and John Wilcox, this 1984 issue features dynamic action and a bold new direction for the team. The cover, by Willie Blyberg, captures the scale of the assault with striking detail.

As the Iron Maiden kidnaps Dynamo, Washington D.C. is invaded by huge insects, orchestrated by the same menace that attacked Red Square and the space shuttle. The THUNDER Agents and the THUNDER Squad take to the battle and inspires a new Menthor. Iron Maiden drops Dynamo into the insects' nests, hoping he will be enough to destroy them all. Meanwhile, Kitten recruits former THUNDER agent Vulcan, to help fight the giant insects.
