“The Invasion Begins!”

"The Invasion Begins!" kicks off T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #1 (1983) with a high-stakes training session gone wrong, as NoMan faces a sudden assault by a robotic army—only to be outmaneuvered by a shadowy enemy operating from the moon. The mystery deepens when the same unseen force strikes again, dismantling a U.S. space shuttle and disrupting a military display in Red Square, leaving NoMan as the sole survivor by transferring his consciousness into a new android body. Written by Chris Adames and illustrated by Lou Manna, with inks by Willie Blyberg, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Rod Ollerenshaw, the cover by Manna and Blyberg captures the tension of an unseen war looming from beyond Earth.
