Szninkiel #2

The second volume of Szninkiel, subtitled "Wybraniec," arrives in 2001 from Egmont Polska with a cover by Grzegorz Rosiński that immediately commands attention — a lone, ragged figure gazes upward into the cavernous darkness of an enormous, ancient tree, where a luminous female form is nestled among the gnarled roots and branches. Rosiński's painterly technique cloaks the scene in deep shadow and earthy greens, making that distant glowing figure feel both otherworldly and strangely fragile. With Jean Van Hamme and Ksenia Chamerska crafting the story "Malear," this is atmospheric, myth-tinged European comics storytelling at its most visually compelling.
