The banner shouts "Eclipso Triumphant!" and Aaron Lopresti's cover makes it easy to believe — a grinning, blue-skinned Eclipso looms at the center, effortlessly suspending two helpless figures on either side while a desperate Amethyst, in her signature purple-and-gold armor, strains against his grip below. It's a striking image of a hero pushed to her absolute limit, rendered with real dynamism by Lopresti's pencils and inks. Christy Marx's New 52 run on Sword of Sorcery continues to deliver high-stakes fantasy adventure, and issue #8 looks like one of its most intense chapters yet.
