This issue is an anthology containing at least two stories. The lead story follows an unnamed woman who completes important design work for her boss Mr. Forrest while he is away in Chicago, hoping to prove herself worthy of keeping her job, only to decide she must leave and learn to face life's responsibilities on her own. "The Happiness and Heartbreak of Vicki Carter" (Chapter VIII: "The Fight for Life") depicts nurse Vicki Carter caring for Dr. Paul Andrus, a young man stricken with a mysterious illness from atomic radiation exposure in a desert town out west, as she struggles with her growing love for him while he fights to recover. "My Other Self" tells of identical twins Joan and Janet, teachers who look alike but have different personalities—the more serious Joan envies Janet's carefree nature and romantic success with a man named Mark, leading Joan to abandon her restrained life to pursue her own happiness.
